This Gap Is Why We Exist.

The gift came first. The dream hadn't. A donor offered $50 million, and our founder realized the organization wasn't ready to receive it. That gap, between generosity and readiness, is where Dream Big began.

Not Strategy.
Not Fundraising.

Something before both.

We don't start where you are and plan forward. We start with what doesn't exist yet — and build it into something people are pulled toward, not asked to fund.

Our Mission

To help organizations dream big: shaping transformative dreams, building partnerships with the Dream Enablers who bring them to life, and expanding impact for everyone the mission serves.

The People Behind the Dream

Four decades of major-gift experience and building what happens after "yes." Together, they built the process that connects the two.

Stephanei Cornett

Stephanie Cornett

Co-Founder

Executive director, development leader, business builder. Stephanie knows both chairs — the one asking, and the one deciding — and built the rigor that makes a dream credible.

The Proof Behind the Process

Trust built from three places: reputation, rigor, and results.

Reputation

Four decades of major-gift relationships and community trust.

Rigor

Every engagement runs on the same process:

  • Upfront discovery — the groundwork that happens before facilitation, so both the ideation and the scoring rubric are built around your organization specifically, not a template

  • Facilitated ideation that creates dreams the room never had permission to imagine

  • A bespoke scoring rubric, customized for every organization — not a template reused off the shelf

  • A detailed dossier built for one dream and one Dream Enabler

  • Identifying, cultivating, and activating your Dream Enabler — the direct work of finding the right person, preparing your leadership, and facilitating the moment it becomes real

Results

In their own words:

"It forces you to go beyond what you think is possible."
— Organizational Leader, Community-Serving Nonprofit

"I just find it very refreshing that [Dream Big] helping with the thought process before you go and get a fundraising consultant."

  • No. Strategic planning works from where you are now toward a short-term goal. Dream Big starts with a future big enough to change your trajectory, then builds the path to make it real.

  • That may be an important project. Our role is finding out whether there's an even bigger dream behind it — one that pulls in a Dream Enabler, not just funds an operation.

  • Donors who transform your future need a dream that makes them feel joy in making it real. The better question is: what dream would make a Dream Enabler want in?

  • Not necessarily. We can guide the full journey, or step in wherever you need it most — discovery, validation, framing, or actualization.

  • That's exactly why this work matters. Dream Big creates the space and structure that visionary work usually doesn't have room for internally.

  • CEOs and board chairs — not primarily development staff. This work needs someone who can set strategy, not just champion the idea internally.

  • Probably not yet. This works best once new leadership is settled and actively setting direction. If you're in transition, the better move is usually to wait.

Questions Worth Asking First

You don't need to arrive with the dream fully formed. You only need to be ready to explore what could become possible.
